The Name: Khem Villas

The Place: On the edge of Ranthambhore National Park in Rajasthan

What’s it like: A thickly forested oasis right next to the tiger reserve. The main house is simple and elegantly designed, tents set back in the forest are comfortably luxurious and the garden cottages are beautifully rustic, gorgeously decorated and very romantic with stunning outdoor bathrooms.

What we love: The hosts, Goverdhan and Usha are incredibly welcoming and knowledgable. The food is always superb and the location is wonderfully peaceful.

What to avoid: Monsoon when the park is closed.
