Tamil Nadu is located at the southern most part of India and is home to some of the country’s oldest and most significant temple complexes. Manifestations of the regions ancient culture attract more pilgrims than tourists making this an ideal tour for people wanting to come well off-the-beaten track to learn about an area which is believed to be one the oldest continuous habituations in India. Incorporated into the route is Pondicherry, a French colony until 1954. The French influence is still very strong, both in the local cuisine and beautiful architecture.
