In January 2020, we accompanied a group to the incredible Jaipur Literary Festival,  hosted by Diggi Palace for the 13th time. A multi-sensory feast of ideas, the festival has grown to become a literary event renowned the world over, attracting over 2000 speakers and millions of people from all over India and across the globe. Welcoming a diverse selection of world’s greatest writers, thinkers, humanitarians, politicians, business leaders, sports people and entertainers, the festival acts as a space for thoughtful debate and dialogue; celebrating and championing this freedom to express and engage.

The five day programme provided a once-in-a-lifetime experience to immerse oneself in the sharing and generating of ideas that shape our modern world. Set in the energetic state capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur provides the perfect backdrop for this gathering of inspiring minds.

This year, speakers included Chitra Mudgal , first Indian woman to receive the Vyas Samman for her novel Avaan, hailed as one of the greatest literary works in Hindi, Suketu Mehta and Simon Armitage, appointed the UK Poet Laureate in May 2019. Also part of the 5 day celebration were a series of breathtaking Heritage events celebrating Jaipur’s history and culture supported by Rajasthan Tourism, culinary treats available at the myriad of food stalls and the chance to discover the upcoming contemporary art of Jaipur.

We are always so excited for this fantastic event, and this year certainly did not fail to leave us inspired and full of pride for the incredible culture that surrounds us.

If you are interested in taking part next year, please get in touch so that we can start planning your trip.
